Lloyd Spruill, Vice President

After earning a BA in English at Guilford College, Lloyd completed two master’s degree programs, an MA.Ed. in English and an MA.Ed. in Curriculum and Supervision. She also has English, Reading, and Academically Gifted teacher certification.

Lloyd's career includes 21 years of high school English teaching with emphasis on improving student writing and literary analysis. She also worked four years as a school district level Director of Testing and Technology, Title I Evaluator, and Curriculum Supervisor.

Working with teachers in K-12 across the district to learn how to use application software to enhance classroom teaching and learning activities, she taught teachers to analyze test data to determine students' academic weaknesses and to build lesson plans that address those weaknesses, thereby improving test scores.

Upon leaving North Carolina Public Schools, she began the Education Division for Computer Decisions, Inc. in Raleigh, NC. During this tenure, she led schools to develop long-range instructional technology plans and created an instructor-led training technology integration series for K-12 academic curriculum.

Lloyd joined Teacher Universe at its inception in December of 1998. She served as the Director of Instruction and Content Development. In this position she selected and supervised all Curriculum Integration Specialists and led her staff to create or revise ninety-seven books as part of the Integrate Series.

When Riverdeep, Inc. acquired Teacher Universe in 2001, Lloyd became the National Director of Professional Development and Training for Riverdeep Interactive Learning. In this position, she directed all implementation of the sale of Riverdeep’s professional development services and worked closely with marketing and sales initiatives regarding Destination Reading. She also led numerous training sessions for inside sales staff, resellers, as well as major education clients regarding the sale and use of Teacher Universe Professional Development and Destination Reading.

Currently, Lloyd is Vice President for Education for Knowledge Network Solutions, Inc. She continues to guide professional development implementations, supervise the creation of instructor-led training curricula, and lead train-the-trainer sessions for schools and education related businesses.
